Langbiang Biosphere Reserve is expected to cover nearly 260,000 ha; in which, the core zone covers more than 56,220 ha, the buffer zone is nearly 85,569 ha and the transitional area covers over 117,670 ha. The entire biosphere reserve spreads over Da Lat city and districts: Lac Duong, Lam Ha, Duc Trong and Don Duong. Notably, the core zone of the biosphere reserve is the Biduop National Park - Nui Ba , the National Conservation Center for Biodiversity with over 2,000 plant species and nearly 400 animal species, including 127 Rare species in the Red Book.
According to the Steering Committee for the construction of the Langbiang Biosphere Reserve file, the Langbiang Plateau area has now met the criteria to become a biosphere reserve in the world. That is: Representative ecosystem; the meaning of biodiversity conservation; opportunities for sustainable development; Community involvement; clear management, policy and governance mechanisms, including research, education and supervision. The parties also agreed on the expected criteria and area of the biosphere reserve; collect and investigate contents related to biodiversity, people's livelihood, economy, society, history and culture in the biosphere reserve.

Currently, the Steering Committee is cooperating with Biduop National Park - Nui Ba to build an expected map of the biosphere reserve and synthesize reports on biodiversity of the National Park on animals, plants, vegetation, aquatic life and biodiversity conservation management; determine conservation value, economic value, typical value of Langbiang animal and plant species. Implementation of the topic of collecting and processing plant and animal samples is also underway.
In the coming time, the Steering Committee will continue to work with the National Committee of the Vietnam Program for People and Biosphere to review the contents of the thematic reports on civil, economic and social issues; survey and supplement some contents on tourism activities, indigenous culture and human ecology; completing maps and data of biosphere reserves, completing the logo of the biosphere reserve. It is expected that Vietnamese documents will be completed in August and the English dossier will be completed by the end of September and submitted to UNESCO.
