According to the Daily Mail, a woman named Stephanie Paterson was quick to take pictures of strange creatures. ' It had a very bright purple color, it caught my eye so I had to stop and see what it was,' Paterson said. 'I wonder if anyone knows what this creature is. I have never seen such a strange creature before '.

Oceanographic expert Mike Van Kuelen, working at Murdoch University, says the mysterious creature could be the crown jellyfish . This creature lives in warm water stretching to southern Australia.

Van Kuelen said the creature could be pushed south by the current, out of its familiar habitats.

Experts say this is a crowned jellyfish living in the deep sea.

Another expert told the Daily Mail that sometimes, jellyfish still drift off the Australian coast, along the coast of New South Wales.

This jellyfish lives only in the deep sea, rarely seen in shallow waters near the shore. 'They live in the ocean so it's not easy for us to see them unless we die off the coast due to high winds or tides,' says Uribe-Palomino.

Australian scientists encourage anyone to find crowned jellyfish, contact Atlas of Living Australia immediately to help better understand their habitat as well as statistics of the times they have drifted along the coast.

Last December, a fancy purple jellyfish was also found on the beach in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
