The newly discovered island lies between Cuba and Mexico's Yucatan state.
According to oceanographic experts, this seabed island covers an area of about 20 square kilometers, with many stone constructions having a complete and orderly structure like the big cities of the time.
Researchers believe that when it is floating on the water, the island is able to trade with some Bahamate island cities. Through satellite imagery, one can see traces of that common road lying on the sea floor.
Besides construction works, scientists also discovered many traces like streets, boulevards, bays and harbors. Similar structures are found in other parts of the Caribbean Sea, near the Bahamat Islands.
Some scientists have suggested that tens of thousands of years ago, in this area, there might have been a great catastrophe destroying civilization at that time.
