Discovering factors that help people live up to 500 years old

American scientists have found a factor that helps people prolong life.

Recently, scientists at the University of California have discovered a factor that prolongs life expectancy for people up to 500 years from the gene of a small worm called Caenorhabditis elegans . Accordingly, the researcher hopes to find an anti-aging treatment based on this organism's gene.

C. elegans is the first multicellular organism with a completely mapped genetic structure , with 20,000 genes carrying similar functions in humans. About 2,000 of these genes play a role in promoting muscle function and 50-60% of these are similar to humans.

Dr. Pankaj Kapahi, a researcher, said: "We find it very interesting to know that C. elegans has such a human biology. Genetic mutations in this species produce positive feedback. "The polarity in the tissues increases the life expectancy. Basically, they will live about 400-500 years."

Dr added, in the first studies, we focused on examining a single gene mutation but later, these mutations became stronger and clearer. Not only that, this mutation also participates in preventing important molecules that affect insulin activity, which converts adipose tissue into energy that provides the body's living activity. At this time, C. elegans life expectancy will increase to 130%.

Researchers are expected to apply the test to mice and mammals to see if the same effect may occur. If successful, this will be a new hope for scientists to find ways to prolong life, anti-aging in humans.
