Elon Musk shows off electric cars running through tunnels under Los Angeles

Elon Musk, sharing video footage of the Model X SUV model rushing through one of the tunnels excavated by Boring Company on an electric slide, Cnet reported.

The electric vehicle Tesla X launched like flying through a tunnel below Los Angeles thanks to the electric sliding plate at speeds of 200 - 240km / h.

Elon Musk, chief executive of Tesla, shared the video footage of the Model X SUV that flew through one of the tunnels excavated by Boring Company on an electric slide, Cnet reported yesterday. Boring Company does not provide detailed information with videos outside the caption line "the way to Malibu is passed".

A person standing nearby counted down before the car went off with the sliding plate connected to the wheel, allowing the vehicle to safely move through the tunnel system. Although the video recording location was not disclosed, Boring Company said the company was close to completing the 3.2-kilometer test tunnel in Los Angeles. Therefore, the video recording place may be there.

As expected, the tunnel will significantly reduce travel time between the two stations.

Earlier, Musk announced that Boring Company had been selected to build a state-of-the-art underground transport system that could carry passengers between Chicago and O'Hare International Airport in minutes, using New electric sliding plate. Each vehicle can carry 8 - 16 people at a speed of 200 - 240km / h. However, there is no information about the construction time or cost of the project.

As expected, the tunnel will significantly reduce travel time between the two stations. The estimated time of each turn is 12 minutes, much shorter than the current 40-minute route through the Chicago Transit Authority's Blue Line.

Boring Company describes electric slide as a public transport vehicle based on the chassis of the improved Model X. The sliding plate runs entirely on electricity and does not release air. Each electric slide includes an air-conditioned cabin, luggage compartment and Wi-Fi. Every 30 seconds, the electric sliding plate leaves the station and the Chicago Express Loop will operate 20 hours a day, all days of the week.

The Chicago project was carried out by Boring Company along with three other projects, including the Los Angeles - Hawthorne and Washington, DC - Baltimore tunnels. At an event last month of Boring Company, Musk shared new details about the tunnel route in Los Angeles and described it "almost like an automated underground multistage system". He also promised people only pay $ 1 to go through the tunnel system below Los Angeles at a speed of 200km / h.
