Encounter the 'meat festival' scene on the ocean floor and the fate of the 'king of predators'

Do you know what one of the rarest scenes in the natural world is? It is the "flesh" banquet at the bottom of the ocean, when a dead creature becomes the bait for countless smaller animals to break into the tear.

More precisely, that scene is very rare for humans, because the ocean is still a mysterious world after all, with many obstacles for us to explore. So when recently discovered such a "party", scientists were extremely excited because they could not believe they were so lucky.

Specifically, experts from NOAA (National Oceanic Ocean Administration) have made a submarine expedition at a depth of 450m, 130km off the coast of South Carolina. The purpose of the expedition is to track the oil tanks from SS Bloddy Marsh. But before they found the oil, they saw the remains of a swordfish.

The swordfish is about 2.5 meters long, and the poor corpse is sunk by the sea floor, surrounded by a swarm of sharks doing a "feast of flesh" literally.

Sharks are preening the swordfish.

"The cause of the death of the giant swordfish is unknown, possibly because it is too old, sick, or injured," - Peter J. Auster, marine expert from the University of Connecticut.

"Through observation, there have been no traces of fishing hooks or nets from humans. However, the body has been torn by hundreds of bite marks from the sharks."

Speaking of sharks, there are actually many species of this family in the world. The most famous is probably the white shark - the creature was dubbed the "ocean god" with a huge body and teeth like a meat grinder. There are also countless smaller shark species, as in this case two "sleeping sharks" . One is the rough-sleeper shark (Centroscymnus owstonii) , and the other one found in 2018 is the Genie sleep shark (Squalus clarke).

Both species are very commonly found at depths of about 450 meters or more. Normally, they move slowly, until discovered that the prey is like a broken bee, rushing into the tearing structure continuously. After all, being a shark is often considered to be a predatory hunter.

However, while reveling in the sight of the festival shark, scientists suddenly discovered a strange twist: another creature appeared at the corner of the camera, and it was caught in the mouth of one of the fish. fat is rejoicing enjoy the other party.

In fact, most other species will not dare to get close when a flock of sharks is passionately tearing down its prey. But the creature that just showed its face was different. It is a rocky sea bass - an animal with a fairly prey ability. They can be up to 2 meters long, superior to those small sharks. And when he saw the spectacle of sharks, the sea bass just stalked the opportunity to earn himself a dinner.

A powerful twist from the 1:42 minute.

It is known that sea bass often hang around caves and wrecks in the deep sea. It is unclear whether it hunts the shark regularly, or just on the occasion of the great party. Just know that if the party continues, there will likely be more sharks entering the creature's throat.

Indeed, the natural world still has many interesting things waiting for us. Hunters can be hunted at any time, even for sharks.
