According to the rescue force, a 17-year-old young soldier was swept away by water at 9:00 on June 16 while crossing a stream when the floodwaters surged. The incident took place near Catterick Garrison of Yorkshire (northwest) when a military unit was doing a routine exercise. Two other soldiers were also swept away but were given emergency aid in time.
Currently, many northwestern England, Walls and Northern Ireland are still submerged by the floods that have lasted for several days. Many roads and railways were interrupted, numerous cars flooded. In some places, houses are submerged in 1.8 meters of water.
Although the British Meteorological Forecasting Agency has lifted alarms but still warns of heavy rains sometimes intense and tornadoes can occur in eastern Scotland.
