Thus, this 1.2 billion euro project will last 3 years longer than the limit. This is the second time ESA moved the time to bring ExoMars to Mars.
ExoMars has a capacity of 200kg, which is expected to be the deepest digging vessel ever, down to 2m, helping to find proof of life already or existing on Mars. European scientists are studying additional laser tools to increase ExoMars' capabilities. This tool will illuminate digging holes, make organic compounds glow like fluorescence, help find the brightest place to focus on checking faster.
In the past, robot ships only sent survey results and images of the earth so often caused controversy about what was actually discovered. Therefore, the next goal is to bring the sample of soil from Mars to Earth to study with the most modern tools and techniques to get the correct answer. ExoMars will perform this mission when there is an expedition to Mars.
