Isabelle first appeared in front of the press with a new face at a press conference today at Amiens Hospital. The group of surgeons who performed the surgery and continued treatment for her was also present at the press conference.

The world's first facial graft surgery was performed on November 27, 2005 in a northern French city. After surgery, Isabelle was treated in the city of Lyon.

Isabelle's surgeon, Bernard Devauchelle, said about three weeks ago Isabelle had gone out on the street without anyone noticing. At that time, she was able to chat and eat.

Isabelle underwent surgery to receive a new face from a brain-dead donor, after being bitten by severe injuries that doctors said made it difficult for her to speak and eat.
