Fasting will lose your voice
The more the girls fasted, the more husky the voice was and the more difficult it was to say it. The team led by Dr. Abdul-Latif Hamdan at the Beirut American University investigated how Muslim vegetarian women in Ramadan were changed their voices.
(Artwork: Reuters) They examined these women when they did not fast and compared their voices after the first week of Ramadan. They analyzed the voice sounds, checked the larynx and asked the girls to describe how difficult the pronunciation was.
The results show that most people complain it is difficult to say something while fasting. About half felt tired in the voice and said less. The second most common phenomenon is a deep voice. Some women also have hoarseness.
Researchers conclude that dieting or dehydration alone has made people lose their voices. Ramadan requires people to abstain from food and liquids.
"I think the effect of vegetarianism on the voice is the result of dehydration. I see a lot of singers, actors often have to drink water to keep their voices," said Scott Jackson, a pathologist. at Northbay Medical Center in California, USA, said.
The study also supports long advice that drinking plenty of water and eating well will have a good voice.
