For the first time discovered omnivorous dinosaurs
An American scientist has found the skull of an omnivorous dinosaur that lived about 190 million years ago. They help experts explain the process of converting meat to grass in prehistoric giant animals.
The tiny skull weighed just as much as an MP3 player and belonged to a Heterodontosaurus that had not yet reached adulthood. Its tooth structure consists of many sharp ones in the front to bite and tear off and large, flat teeth to crush food in the back. This is evidence that this small animal is in the process of evolving from predators to herbivores.
" Because this is one of the first dinosaurs to eat plants, they may be the link between carnivorous dinosaurs and herbivores. The skull of an immature dinosaur shows that Heterodontosaurus lives in the The middle part of the transition period , "said Laura Porro, a University of Chicago graduate student.

Laura accidentally found the skull in a museum in Cape Town, South Africa while conducting a study of the feeding behavior of Heterodontosaurus. " At first I did not know what it was. Only after watching carefully did I dare to claim it to be a dinosaur. It was found from the 1960s of the last century, but it was undetermined. This dinosaur lives in the early stages of the Jurassic period, "she added.
The first dinosaurs appeared on Earth about 230 million years ago and they ate meat. It was not until 40 million years later that the dinosaurs ate the new plants. An adult Heterodontosaurus can be more than 1 meter long and weighs about 2.5 kg. The skull that Laura found belonged to a bird weighing about 200 g and had a length of 32-35 cm.
