For the first time, the female scientist was awarded the Ta Quang Buu Award
Among the three approved scientists proposed to award the Main Prize in 2019, there is a female scientist.
On April 25, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh approved the proposal to award the main prize, the Ta Quang Buu Prize in 2019, to three scientists recommended by the Awards Council.
Among them are PGS Pham Duc Chinh, Institute of Mechanics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Mechanics field); Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Le Khanh Hang, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (Biomedical Medicine field) and Dr. Le Trong Lu, Institute of Tropical Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (Physics field).
This is the first year, the Awards Council proposes to award female scientists and scientists in the fields of Biomedical Medicine and Mechanics.

Previously, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the list of nominated and reviewed works at the Ta Quang Buu Awards Council 2019. Among the 8 selected projects, there are 6 nominations for authors of scientific works. Excellent (Main Prize) and 2 nominations for young scientists under 35 (Young Prize). The nominations of Ta Quang Buu Awards in 2019 are in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Earth Science and Environment, Mechanics, Life Sciences - Medicine Biomedical.
Starting from November 2018, the National Fund for Science and Technology Development (Award-winning Agency) received 45 applications for registration. After that, the standing body of the award has evaluated the records at specialized scientific councils and selected and proposed to the award committee.
The award ceremony is expected to be held on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology (May 18).
