The fossil pine resin, weighing more than 2kg, is predicted by scientists to have been underground for 50 million years.

Kaliningrad is considered to be the region with the largest amber reserves in the world and the only opal amber mines, but according to Svetlana Kalinina, the only Russian enterprise representative allowed to exploit and manipulate industrial types " This " sun stone ", such large size fossil resin specimens have been rare in the past.

Patriarshi amber (named after archaeologists after being found) has an oval shape. Although there is a naturally-occurring oxidation crust, if you look carefully you can see the whole grain of stone with light white and reddish-brown segments like honey.

The aforementioned gem mining and manufacturing enterprise said that it is possible that the " sun stone " will be preserved as a natural and intact fossil. The Patriarshi amber jewelry value has not yet been determined.

According to Gokhran Treasure Storage Authority, the authorized agency assesses and evaluates precious stones, amber masses weighing more than 1kg are considered " gem stones ."

Gokhran will also be the unit to decide whether to bring Patriarshi to the National Foundation or to keep it at the unit's Amber Museum that exploited this rock. Svetlana Kalinina said the Amber Museum currently has a stone weighing nearly 4kg.

The largest amber mass in the world is displayed in Berlin, Germany, weighing nearly 6kg.

According to archaeologists, in the first half of the nineteenth century, people also found mass of amber weighing 9kg, even had a block weighing up to 12kg, but these were rare cases, 100 years only met once.
