French development agency will support Vietnam 20 million euros to implement climate change response projects.

Jean Marc Gravellini, director of the French Development Agency, said Vietnam is one of the countries most vulnerable to the consequences of climate change.

"This funding will help Vietnam implement a program for many years with public policy projects in eight areas: Renewable Energy, Energy Savings, Forests, Waste Management, Mechanisms. Development of Clean, Water, Natural and Agricultural Disaster Prevention, " said Jean Marc Gravellini.

In addition to budget support, AFD has implemented technical assistance activities for Vietnam such as defining energy saving targets in the steel industry, preparing action plans at the local scale and policy analysis. developing biofuels in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do, Director of the Department of Foreign Debt and Finance Management, Ministry of Finance, said that the action showed a strong commitment of the French and Vietnamese governments in responding to the issue of gas change. post-poverty as well as poverty reduction.
