Frying fat-free food

A group in the Netherlands has just released a special device capable of creating fried dishes without grease or vegetable oil.

Gizmag said the Dutch electronics company Philips displayed a food frying device called Airfryer at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Germany.

Philips announced they applied Rapid Air technology to make Airfryer. This technology allows hot air to circulate around the feed clamp. Food is ' fried ' to ripen with 80% less fat than when using vegetable oil. The frying process takes 12 minutes.

With the kit included, users can fry many types of food at the same time without having to worry about their flavor blending together. Airfryer also has an air filter to prevent the spread of food odors in the environment. Users can increase the temperature in the device to 200 degrees C.

Of course, it is important to consumers that the quality of the food is fried in the Airfryer. Philips announced that they had organized a lot of people to taste the food and that 75% of them gave a high score for the smell and taste. However, the company has not announced the time to launch the product to the market and the selling price.

International consumer electronics exhibition 2010 starts on September 3 and ends on September 8.
