Video shared on November 22 by Dr Eyup Baskale from the University of Pamukkale shows baby turtles - about 4 weeks old - struggling to move due to two conjoined bodies, two independent thinking heads and six legs.
It was found by a resident at Pamukkale hot spring in southwestern Turkey and donated to Pamukkale University. Baskale said this type of deformity makes it difficult for the creature to live long in the natural environment, so he decided to keep it for care.

Despite having two heads and two bodies, baby turtles have only one common digestive system and one cloaca. This is a very rare specimen, which offers the opportunity to study multi-head syndrome in tortoises.
Polycephaly, also known as polycephaly, is a type of mutation that occurs in both humans and animals. There have been many recorded specimens of two-headed turtles in the world before, but in most cases they have only one body.
