Hai Phong urgently excavated 13 suspected wooden piles of the battle of Bach Dang
Hai Phong City People's Committee has just decided to urgently excavate 13 wooden stakes discovered in Lai Xuan commune, Thuy Nguyen district.
Accordingly, the City allowed the Institute of Archeology to preside over and coordinate with the Hai Phong Museum and the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district to urgently excavate the fish pond area of Mr. Dao Van Den's house in Village 11, Lai Xuan Commune.
Leading the excavation is Dr. Bui Van Hieu, Deputy Director in charge of the Center for Underwater Archeology at the Institute of Archeology.

Earlier, on 9/2, Mr. Dao Van Den's family discovered 13 wooden stakes on the bottom of the pond after pumping water to harvest fish. This fish pond is called Thuong lagoon, formerly the dune is located between the confluence of Kinh Thay, Da Vach and Da Bac rivers.
This area is also adjacent to the administrative boundaries of the three provinces of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Hai Duong.
On February 12, experts and researchers from Vietnam Institute of Archeology returned to Lai Xuan commune to conduct a survey of the area where wooden piles were discovered.
