Hanoi will focus resources on preserving historical and cultural works in the inner city. Of which, the city will spend 1,800 billion VND to carry out the Kinh Thien Palace restoration project .
According to the Steering Committee of Program No. 03 of the Hanoi Party Committee on urban beautification, urban development and urban economy in the period of 2021-2025, the city has determined to review and allocate resources to preserve and promote the architectural value of typical works, historical and cultural works in the inner city.
It is expected that the city will spend 798 billion VND to implement the project to preserve the archaeological site at 18 Hoang Dieu Street, 136 billion VND to implement the project to build the Thang Long Imperial Palace exhibition house in the central relic area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi, and 1,800 billion VND to restore Kinh Thien Palace.
This funding source is allocated according to Resolution No. 21 dated September 23, 2021 and Resolution No. 28 dated December 28, 2022 of the City People's Council.
According to the Steering Committee of Program No. 03 of the Hanoi Party Committee, the above projects are currently being implemented. In addition, Hanoi has also completed the research on the planning of Co Loa Citadel to promote the value of the relic, associated with tourism development.

Previously, at the workshop 'Promoting the value of archaeological space at Thang Long Imperial Citadel ' - part of the series of events of the Cooperation Conference between Vietnamese and French localities, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang - Director of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center said that from 2011 to present, the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee have directed the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center to perform well the work on world heritage, especially implementing the 8 commitments of the Prime Minister to the World Heritage Committee on the Central Heritage Area of Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel.
Key projects of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in the period of 2021-2025 include: Project to preserve the archaeological site at 18 Hoang Dieu, build an on-site exhibition museum; Project to display the Thang Long Imperial Palace and Project to restore the Kinh Thien Palace.
' The Kinh Thien Palace restoration project is being studied to preserve in a different form some modern architectural works in the area on the principle of not reducing or changing the outstanding global value of the heritage site' - Mr. Quang said.
