Just released the moon fish weighing hundreds of kilograms of nets to the sea, the fishermen captured another big moon fish like never before, weighing nearly 1 ton.

On the afternoon of August 14, the representative of Quynh Long commune government, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) confirmed that the fishing vessel of the fishermen in the area had just caught a moon fish weighing nearly 1 ton.

Earlier, on August 10, while fishing in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, the fishing vessel of the 9000-TA fisherman Dao Van Huan (residing in Quynh Long commune) suddenly spotted a fish. Big moon fish caught in the net.

Soon after, he and his crew collected the fish and pulled the fish into the boat. Because the fish is so big, the crew members on the ship are quite hard, using a winch to bring the fish to the ship. Because the fish was dead, Mr. Huan took it to the boat and chilled it. Estimated, this fish weighs nearly 1 ton.

According to Mr. Huan, at that time, a fishing vessel of a nearby fisherman also discovered a moonfish weighing about 2 quintals caught in the net. However, after putting it on the boat, the fish was still alive and dropped into the sea.

It is known that the moon fish has a scientific name is Mola mola , belonging to puffer fish. This is a fish species in the Vietnam Red Book, classified as endangered species, needs protection.
