Some fishermen and traders in Quynh Phuong commune (Quynh Luu, Nghe An) are contacting Vietnam Nature Museum to hand over the fish caught by Mr. Ho Van Doan when going to sea. Fish longer than 1.5m, weighs 15kg, I am flat, plain, short tail, round head, mouth is quite small compared to full body size, big eyes, two short fins.

Mr. Doan said, catching fish when catching nets off shore. Having picked up an hour, the fish died, so he was chilled under the ship's cabin. This is the first time he saw a fish with such a peculiar shape.

Some elderly people in the village claim that this is a moon fish, rarely appearing in Vietnamese waters.

Moon fish scientific name is Mola mola, has a round oval body, mainly distributed in the tropics. In Vietnam, this is a rare and precious fish, named in the red book and a species that needs urgent protection, completely banning fishing and exploitation activities in any form.
