At least 20 people died in a landslide, when monsoon rains continued to land in parts of Southeast Asia.

Dozens of people died from heavy rains in India and Myanmar

Landslides in the eastern Indian state of Manipur buried a village, the media said. " The exact number of deaths will be known after evacuation is completed. So far, we know 20 villagers were killed while one survived, in the worst landslide in Manipur in recent times. "The Times of India quoted a local official as saying.

In neighboring Myanmar, officials declared that four western regions were disaster areas, after the big flood killed at least 27 people. The constant rain in recent weeks has caused flooding and landslides in most parts of Myanmar.

BBC quoted Mg Mg Khin, the leader of Myanmar's Red Cross disaster management, said the country is facing " a great disaster" and that rain is likely to continue to fall in the coming weeks.

About 150,000 houses and fields were damaged, while the people were trapped in remote villages, losing their livelihood.

Monsoon rains also sweep many parts of Asia, including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
