WWF said it had recorded the first images of snow leopard in Wangchuck's hundred-year-old national park.
Snow leopard was discovered at the national park in Bhutan
Accordingly, biologists have captured more than 10,000 images of cat relatives here, in an effort to determine their preferred number and habitat.
On this occasion, experts also discovered the abundant communities of Tibetan wolves, musk deer, green sheep and red foxes in the area showing signs of snow leopard.
While this large cat is hard to detect, evidence in nature suggests that they are prolific in Bhutan.
However, in other parts of the world, the snow leopard community has continued to decline. And now experts say there are no more than 7,000 individuals in the wild.
The number of snow leopard in Bhutan is unknown, but WWF hopes to make official statistics on this species soon, in an effort to protect the endangered species.
