Horror rat carnivore

A recently posted video showed a horrifying image when a tree swallowed a whole mouse.

This clip was posted on Youtube and attracted nearly 2 million views. The video captures the image of an unfortunate mouse slipping into a tree and suddenly disappearing.

This is a plant close to Nepenthes spathulata, a carnivorous pitcher plant found on Indonesian and Sumatra islands of Indonesia. This tree can grow to more than 5 meters, with a 'mouth' about 30cm wide. When the prey is sucked in, it will be like drowning and becoming exhausted. Then it will be slowly dissolved by the digestive enzymes of the plant.

Previously, botanist explorer Stewart McPherson and Alastair Robinson, discovered a rodent-warming cap tree atop Mount Victoria in the Philippines. His research team said that this could be the largest carnivorous plant in the 21st century, which is unknown.

The prey of this plant is usually an insect and includes rodents such as mice . These plants have recently grown to be able to swallow larger things. They often have eye-catching colors to attract prey.

These plants need nutrients by trapping and digesting animals, mostly insects. This is more common when the surroundings lack the necessary foods. In the Philippines, this plant is green and purple, easily recognizable in the surrounding vegetation.
