Deep cracks of nearly 8m appeared on weekends on the Paseo del Mar road in the San Pedro area, about 32km from downtown Los Angeles, when a storm struck the area, causing heavy rain.

By Sunday afternoon, a 274m long road had drifted down to the Pacific Ocean, entailing both electric poles and traffic lights.

The road has been considered dangerous for several months now, and people are warned to stay away from this place.

The road was closed before the landslide on November 20, and the San Pedro mayor's office said no one was injured and neither house was damaged in the landslide.
