The Hubble Space Telescope has sent images of Ceres dwarf planets and Vesta asteroids, the two largest bodies in the asteroid belt, the area between Mars and Jupiter.

The Hubble Space Telescope has sent images of Ceres dwarf planets and Vesta asteroids, the two largest bodies in the asteroid belt, the area between Mars and Jupiter.

Astronomers used these images to plan the space probe of Dawn on these two asteroids. NASA plans to launch the spacecraft on July 7 to make a four-year journey on the Asteroid Belt.

Once there, Dawn will fly from one asteroid to the other. The probe will go into orbit around Vesta in 2011 and Ceres in 2015.
