Due to the influence of storm No. 6, from the evening and night of October 26 to October 28, many areas will have heavy to very heavy rain.
This morning (October 25) , the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) held a meeting to respond to storm Tra Mi.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecast Department (National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting) said that yesterday afternoon, storm Tra Mi entered the eastern sea of the North East Sea, becoming the 6th storm in 2024. Before moving into the East Sea, the storm changed direction 4 times.
In addition , a tropical depression continues to appear off the eastern coast of the Philippines . It is forecasted that in the next 24-48 hours it will strengthen into a storm and move to the northeast of Luzon Island, causing storm No. 6 to interact with a double storm and weaken.
Storm No. 6's circulation is relatively wide, convective clouds are shifted to the West, so the North and Central East Sea will be affected by strong winds.
With the current forecast of the storm's movement, around the afternoon of October 26, the Central Coast may have strong winds of level 6-7, and after the storm approaches, the winds will increase to level 8-9.
According to preliminary calculations, it is likely that tomorrow evening and night (October 26) to October 29, storm Tra Mi will cause heavy rain in the Central region (from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh, Phu Yen), the heavy rain will be concentrated in Quang Tri to Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Gia Lai, the possibility of some areas with heavy rain cannot be ruled out, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong informed.

Commenting on the intensity of storm No. 6, Mr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that in the next 24-48 hours, storm No. 6 will move relatively stably and its intensity will continue to increase.
"According to our forecast, the maximum intensity when the storm is in the eastern area of the Hoang Sa archipelago can reach level 11-12, gusting to level 13-14 ," said Mr. Lam.
When entering the Hoang Sa archipelago, the storm will tend to move slower and its intensity will gradually weaken. Due to a cold air mass in the North moving south, the storm will weaken and be pushed south. After that, the storm will likely weaken to level 7-8 and move out to sea and remain for a relatively long time in the coming time. This pattern leads to prolonged rain in the Central region.
