In the future, robots can become "food" or play the role of "doctor" supplying drugs from within the human body.

Scientists at the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne have designed an electronic component with gelatin, which paves the way for the ability of humans to consume robots.

This type of robot is gelatin.

The director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory at the institute, Dario Floreano, said the edible robots also played a role in supplying drugs to humans and animals.

According to the Daily Mail, the device they have created is 90mm long, 20mm wide and 17mm thick. These two robots are capable of connecting together to form devices that can move and pick up objects. In the human body, these robots will utilize chemical reactions as the source of energy for them to function.

These two robots, once assembled, can become tools to pick up objects.

The robot is currently not available, but researchers are working with the hospital, called the École hôtelière de Lausanne, to make the device "better" in the future.

In 2016, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and York University used pig stomach as a material to create robots. Accordingly, this material shrinks when temperatures are high, so the robot can move in the human stomach.

A special type of magnet in the robot will help to draw metal objects that can be dangerous in the human body. However, the limitation is that there is a need for more magnetic fields for this robot to perform the task correctly, so it is very difficult for this "pig stomach" to work effectively if not in the proper environment.
