India found the missing Moon amphibious ship

India's Vikram Moon lander was spotted on the lunar surface after losing contact just before landing.

The Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO) is trying to reconnect contact with the Vikram based on a thermal image of the machine taken by the spacecraft orbiting the Chandrayaan-2 Moon. According to Kailasavadivoo Sivan, ISRO director, the agency has not been able to determine the status of the ship.

The Chandrayaan-2 project team will study the final signals to find out the reason for the loss of communication with the Vikram. After descending for 12 minutes and just 2.1 km from the surface of the Moon, the Vikram stopped communicating with the ground control unit at the ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru on September 7.

On September 2, the amphibious ship Vikram detached from the Chandrayaan-2. The Chandrayaan-2 will depart from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on July 22. The ship began its journey to the Moon after flying around the Earth for nearly 23 days. The three nations that land on the Moon are the United States, the Soviet Union and China. India is attempting to become the first country to have landers land on the southern tip of the Moon.
