With the intention of creating a network of solar panels extending beyond Manhattan, India is expected to have the world's largest solar photovoltaic plant.

This photovoltaic plant will generate at least 4,000MW equivalent to the capacity of 4 nuclear power plants.

The total cost of the project is very expensive, so India's renewable energy officials suggest that the government allow access to the World Bank (WB) to borrow $ 500 million for the first phase of project implementation.

India has been frustrating to world leaders about reducing emissions. Four years ago they only produced 17.8MW of solar power. However, the situation has improved because the solar power has provided India 2,208MW today and is the next largest project in the world with 4,000MW.

UPI said that India has also actively invested in wind energy and provided funding for farmers to pump water through solar energy.
