Panda photovoltaic plant is unique in the world
This is probably one of the most unique solar camps in the world.
Most solar power plant sites arrange solar collectors in rows and columns to form a grid. But a new photovoltaic plant in Datong (China) decided to produce the world's most special design.

China Merchants New Energy Group, one of the country's largest clean energy operators, built a 248-acre solar farm with the shape of a giant panda.
According to the PV magazine, Phase 1, the 50 megawatt plant was completed on June 30. This new project began supplying electricity to the grid in northwest China. The second 'panda' is scheduled for construction later this year.
According to the company, the power plant called Panda Power Plant will be able to produce 3.2 billion kilowatt hours of solar energy in 25 years.
This eliminates about thousands of tons of coal slag during electricity production, reducing 2.74 million tons of carbon emissions.

China Merchants New Energy Group has worked with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to make Panda Power Plant a reality.
UNDP wrote in a statement that this project is part of a greater effort to raise awareness for young people in China. They hope to build more solar power plants across China in the next 5 years.
