Install bio-gas powered generators at 42 farms
After 2 years of implementation, the small-scale bio-gas power generation project (Bio-Gas project) has supported 42 farms, households and enterprises to install bio-gas generators. .
Bio-gas is the renewable energy obtained from the process of decomposing organic substances in an atmosphere of lack of air. Domestic waste, waste of agricultural production, animal husbandry, water treatment . is a good material source for producing bio-gas. Using bio-gas and renewable energy sources derived from solar energy does not increase the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, save fuel and reduce environmental pollution.
Bio-Gas project in the framework of the " Go Green - Green Journey " program implemented by Toyota Vietnam (TMV) in collaboration with the General Department of Environment and Ministry of Education and Training since 2008. As planned, 500 clusters Bio-gas powered generators will be installed with households, livestock farms, small and medium enterprises with 2 phases: piloting in a narrow range (from 2009 to 2011) and mass production (from year to year). 2012). The project contributes to reducing environmental pollution through the use of waste for useful purposes; minimizing CO2 concentration in the air; find clean, cheap, sustainable and proactive energy sources.
In early October, in Da Nang, TMV collaborated with Da Nang University to organize a workshop on ' Producing bio-gas power - a solution to save energy and protect the environment in rural areas ' to assess Results of 2 years of implementing Bio-Gas project for households and livestock farms. Households applying the technology said that the application of bio-gas to produce electricity helps them save energy, production costs and protect the environment. With this technology, livestock waste will be put into the tunnel to create biogas to generate electricity, serving the needs of living and livestock. Besides, post-bio-gas waste is also used as fertilizer for plants.
According to GS. Dr. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, chaired the project of bio-gas application to run diesel engines and produce electricity, maximum energy of bio-gas is 20 times higher than hydroelectricity. Using 1 kW of bio-gas electricity will save 0.4 liters of gasoline and reduce 1 kg of CO2 . " The completed project will contribute to saving 6,000 liters of gasoline a day, reducing emissions of 15 tons of CO2 a day.
