Japanese: No sex, no baby

A slumping birth rate survey in the sunrise country has revealed what anyone with an average level of understanding knows: no sex will not have children.

The survey, published this week by the Japan Family Planning Association, recorded 39.7% of citizens aged 16 to 49 years old did not have sex for a month. This number has increased by 5% compared to 2 years ago.

Couples also " abstain " quite thoroughly, with the rate of not " love " for a month up to 34.6%.

Picture 1 of Japanese: No sex, no baby "This is bad news for the country's birth rate, and the government needs to consider the issue urgently," said Dr Kunio Kitamura, director of the association.

The survey came amid concerns about Japan's declining birth rate, reaching a record in 2005, with an average of only 1.26 times each woman in her life.

"This situation is really sad , " Kitamura said. "My research shows that if people don't have sex for a month, they probably won't do anything for a year."

Kitamura accused some of the situation because of stress in today's busy life. In addition, the decline in physical communication skills in a web-based society is also a factor.

The association gave the research sample to over 2,700 randomly selected people, and received feedback from 636 men and 773 women in November 2006. In a similar survey 2 years ago, 35% gave know they don't "love" within a month.

Japan is at the bottom of the study in 29 countries about sexual satisfaction announced by the University of Chicago last year, with only 25.7% of lovers showing satisfaction in bed. The country is also ranked at the bottom of the list of 41 countries in the 2005 Durex condom manufacturer survey, with an average of only 45 times a year relative to the world average of 103.
