Robot baby robs old friends
Japanese scientists have created a robot identical to a 5-year-old girl, who is known to be friends with the elderly and disabled.
University of Osaka scientists named the robot Repliee R-1. It can blink, there are soft silicone skin, 50 sensors and quite a lot of motors that make it look like a real person.
Repliee R-1 can move and communicate with human surroundings. In a small girl's body, it makes the other person feel closer and more friendly when exposed.
Cyberdyne, a robotics company, hopes to produce the robot in the near future.
