Japan's 'miracle' technology promises to clean the To Lich River for 2 months

With Nano Bioreactor technology, experts from Japan promise to thoroughly handle the source of pollution in To Lich River (Hanoi) without using chemicals, not harmful to health.

The delegation of United Nations environmental experts led by Dr. Tadashi Yamamura recently had a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and expressed his desire to support Hanoi in treating pollution of To Lich River with the most advanced technology of Japan.

The new technology of Japan promises to solve the odor of To Lich river within 3 days and decompose all waste layers, sludge is located in the riverbed within 2 months.

On the Vietnamese side, Japan Vietnam Environment Improvement Joint Stock Company (JVE) will directly supervise the construction of water environment cleanup activities in this project. The company representative said Nano - Bioreactor technology consists of 2 parts: Nano aeration technology and Bioreactor plate.

Breakthrough from new technology

According to environmental experts, about 15 million cubic meters of domestic and untreated wastewater are discharged daily into this river. Many "rescue" plans of To Lich River have been implemented by Hanoi City for decades but are not effective.

In particular, the project is Yen Yen wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 270,000m3 / day and night, started in October 2016, with Japanese ODA.

When the plant comes into operation, it is expected that 80% of wastewater in Dong Da districts, a part of Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem and Thanh Tri districts will be fully treated.

However, the biggest problem hindering the thorough treatment of pollution sources in this river is the amount of sludge and huge waste in the river that is difficult to handle without discharging the discharged wastewater.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Chairman of JVE Company said that this new technology will help Hanoi solve this problem.

"In the past, to clean the To Lich River, it was necessary to completely shut down the sewage system flowing into the river, combined with the dredging. However, with this new technology, the pollution source can still be treated. without separating waste water , " Tuan Anh said.

To provide a solution for the To Lich River, Japanese experts had to investigate and survey within 2 years. Bio - Reactor technology has been applied, successfully handling more than 300 pollution points throughout Japan and many Asian countries such as India, Indonesia and Thailand.

Where to waste, handle it right away

Dr Kubo Jun, a nano-technology expert of JVE Company, said that the Japanese side brought 2 devices that were invented in Japan, including Micro Nano aerators and Bioreactor material sheets.

"When these two devices work together, we can imagine putting a sewage treatment plant right down the river. Every day, when wastewater, pollution sources flow, this technology will handle. right now and no longer polluted ".

At the meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 11, Mr. Yamamura reported to the Prime Minister about the technology and emphasized the completely natural Nano - Bioreactor technology, no harmful substances, in addition, help minimize the cost of factory construction, equipment maintenance like previous technologies.

The device will be placed under the To Lich River, automatically operated to clean water, decompose sludge and waste. In particular, Bioreactor technology plays a role in stimulating useful microorganisms, inhibiting and drastically reducing the number of harmful microorganisms, polluting the water environment.

Japanese Nano technology processes the source causing pollution, bad smell, resolving the entire bottom layer of mud without mechanical dredging. This Nano system can resolve contaminants without waiting for the separation of waste water into the river.

Japanese experts also promised that after 3 days of operating this technology, the stench will no longer exist, after 2 months most of waste and mud in the river will be decomposed.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the Japanese side's proposal and emphasized that Vietnam is particularly concerned with the environment, considering it a major issue in the country's development process. He expressed confidence in his experience, the Japanese side will succeed in wastewater treatment in Hanoi.

To Lich River is about 14 km long, flowing through Ba Dinh, Cau Giay, Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai and Thanh Tri districts of Hanoi City. For many years, the water of To Lich River has always been in serious pollution, stinking.

Many solutions have been proposed to clean up the riverbed, however, there is no real solution that is effective due to the huge amount of daily waste and production flowing into the river.
