Journey to the Phoenix Mars probe

The Phoenix's Mars exploration mission has just been confirmed to have ended, after it abruptly stopped contacting the earth since November 2.

The spacecraft carrying the Pheonix Mars probe was launched from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on August 4, 2007. This ship has a mission to discover the existence of water on Mars.

The two photographs show a kind of white substance considered to be a melting water on Mars on June 20. The discovery of water on Mars is very important, helping to answer questions about whether there is life, whether in the form of bacteria, on this planet or not.

Mars's sandy soil covers the probe ship's equipment. The ship's five-month mission is expected to end after it stops all communications with the earth on November 2.
