June 16, 2012: China successfully launched the Shenzhou spacecraft 9

June 16, 1922: Inventing the first helicopter

In 1922, Henry A. Berliner proved that the aircraft could take off vertically, without a long runway like before. The first prototype of a helicopter was built by Berliner and certified by the US Aviation Department.

Berliner's prototype is still basically a conventional fighter, but has two above propellers with a wingspan of 4.2 m, a 220 hp Bentley engine. IBM is the world's leading computer technology group, but few know that it was founded as Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) in 1911. Previously, in 1890, Dr. Herman Hollerith had invented an electric machine, using punch cards in the US census.
