The book about freedom refers to the problem of many people concerned, which is the right of individuals in their relationship with the community and society. The work exemplifies the views of author John Stuart Mill, that each person's freedom finds its limits in the freedom of others; that social freedom is the boundary between social control and individual independence. John Stuart Mill defends the rights of individuals so that they can "live happily at their disposal rather than make them live happily according to those around them ." The author's ideal is to bring freedom to each person to gain the prosperity of everyone and ultimately to achieve social progress.

Plutarque's Parallel Life book is the most massive work on ancient Greek - Roman civilization. The idea of ​​Plutarque is to build pairs of characters in parallel, with analysis compared to each other by a comparison placed behind each pair of characters with the aim of primarily giving lessons because the author is not just one writers, historians but also ethics. Through the book, in addition to understanding the Greek-Roman civilization, readers will understand more about the source of rationalism of the West.

Each year, with the support of the Vietnam Translation Fund, Knowledge Publishing House will publish 50-70 works for the world's elite bookcases. Vietnamese scientists believe that translating and publishing valuable works of the world is one of the effective ways to convey human civilization ideas quickly and accurately to intellectuals and numerous readers, serving the cause of national modernization in the integration process.
