Mount McKinley, located in the US state of Alaska, is about 25.29m lower than previously recorded data.
The mountain on the hour has an official height of 6,168m. The most recent measurement was in 1952, according to the BBC.
The US Geographic Survey says that the condition of McKinley Mountain is "dwarfed" probably because current measurement technology is more accurate than in 1952, or as a result of climate change.
The data has been published according to an updated plan for all Alaska geological maps deployed by the US Geographic Survey.
According to the measurement in 1952, the peak of McKinley was 6,193 meters.
