Psychologist John Philippe Rushton says this explains the fact that men are always promoted faster than women. According to him, the men who hold leadership positions are because they are smarter, not sexist.

Rushton's team analyzed 100,000 multiple-choice tests conducted by 17-18-year-old male and female students. The group found that men achieved better results in all grades, regardless of family income, parental education, and racial origin.

Rushton claims girls learn better than boys in high school just because girls grow faster than boys.

But psychologist Alan Smithers dismissed this view. He said: "The fact that women don't advance far in their career is their choice. Professor Rushton is too focused on numbers. Measuring intelligence is not like measuring length or size."
