In 1901, Jane Stanford, the wife of the founder of the prestigious American university, bought an ancient Egyptian mummy. Five years later, the stone coffin was transferred to the Museum of an educational facility at Stanford after being severely damaged by an earthquake. However, no one discovered the inscription on it.
In early 2018, this artifact became a reference subject in a course on museum culture. During the course, student Ariel Algaze while studying the tomb discovered 2 inscription epitaphs . The Egyptologists later helped the female student translate this line of characters. They finally deciphered the identity of the mummy woman inside the stone coffin. She is named Senchalanthos , and the epitaph says "Let her name be younger every day".
Based on the style of the epitaph, experts say that Senchalanthos died around 30 BC. It is worth noting that so far scientists have rarely found preserved ancient texts from this period.
