Microsoft completed Windows Server 2003 R2
On December 6, Microsoft began transferring Windows Server 2003 R2 upgrade versions to manufacturers to reach consumers within two months.
Windows Server 2003 R2 is the next upgrade of the Windows Server 2003 server version, and will be 100% compatible with applications running on the current platform. Microsoft introduced the first preview of Windows Server 2003 R2 in August 2005 and a second preview in October.
Virtualization is a key feature of the Windows Server 2003 R2 upgrade - designed to work in parallel and tightly connected with other applications such as Virtual Server 2005, Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) and Systems Management Server (SMS).
