Launched a new version of Longhorn Server
Instead of the Windows Server version Longhorn Beta 3 according to the plan, Microsoft released a new Community Technology Preview (CTP) version. Windows Server Longhorn CTP is a trial version exclusively for the company's own testing community and has a technological understanding.
Longhorn Beta 3 is a milestone before Microsoft completes and launches the official version of this new server operating system. It is expected that the official version will be released later this year.
Some of the salient features advertised by Microsoft will be included in this new server operating system version of Windows PowerShell - command line control environment - and the ability to virtualize the server.
" We want the customer community to test and re-evaluate the operating system before releasing a Beta 3 version. All features of this CTP version are features that will be available in Beta 3, " Helene Love Snell - Microsoft product manager - said.
" This CTP version is a milestone marking the move to Beta 3, which will be available in the first half of this year. A number of improved features will be added to the operating system. In exchange for user interface, but most notable is Server Management and PowerShell server management tools ".
