Microsoft will ship Longhorn Server at the end of 2007
The next Longhorn server beta will be available soon but the final product will not be shipped before fall of 2007.
In his speech at the Summit on Management of Microsoft-Microsoft Management Summit 2006, Bob Muglia - Senior Vice President in charge of Microsoft servers and tools, told delegates to attend that lift version. The main Windows server level, codenamed Longhorn and unofficially known as the Vista server, can be shipped in the second half of 2007.
Microsoft has said it will ship the operating system in 2007 but did not provide this guide before. Muglia said it is hoped that Microsoft will release the next 'nearly complete' beta in the near future and this fall will release the next main server beta which integrates all the necessary changes of Vista operating system for clients.
The Vista beta 2 client version, also named as the Customer CTP ( Community Technology Preview ), is expected to be available in the market by the end of the second quarter and the final product for business will be available. This fall is also for customers in early 2007.
