Currently, when it comes to contraception, women have many effective means: menstrual cycle, vaginal hat, IUD and many other optional medications. Meanwhile, men only have condoms, some types of tablets and vasectomy. Some other methods are also studied in the lab, but to apply to rabbits is more appropriate than for humans. But in the end, medicine also drained a burden, paying a long-term debt to men in this.

In the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, scientists have published a new method that has been tested on a large scale and seems to have come closest. Massive application of male birth control pills with testosterone-based active ingredients (male sex hormones). Very simple: Only one injection per month!

The study was conducted on about 1,000 healthy men and their female partners. At the beginning, they injected a single shot for use over the next few months when the sperm count was reduced to the level of conception. After that, the couples of relationships were comfortable, without any contraceptive devices for 2 years. By the end of the second year, nine people were "sticking out", so that defeat accounted for 1.1 in 100 pairs a year, on par with the best use of condoms and existing pill contraceptives.

Warning: Injecting testosterone birth control pills for men does not prevent sexually transmitted diseases. They also tend to increase this desire. The first injections did not lower sperm count to not conceive for 5% of men who participated in the contraceptive test. The number of sperms of two people until the end of the test period is not as great as it used to be, and about one-third of the boys were excluded before the trial ended for many reasons: they had to go to military service, arbitrarily give up (no more injections) and some have side effects (skin rashes, allergies).
