Mozilla accelerates Firefox 3
Mozilla has announced new details in its plan for Firefox 3 - the next major upgrade for its multi-user open source browser. Beta 1 of this browser is scheduled to be released in July 2007.
On mozilla.dev.planning forum, Mozilla vice president of engineering Mike Schroepfer said, in April, May, and June, there will be Firefox 4, 5, 6 versions (Alpha 3 version) was published on March 27, 2007). As planned, the full beta 1 will be available to testers on July 31, 2007.
Mozilla said that the final version of Firefox 3 will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2007, there will be a completely renewed bookmark system, ID management tools, support off-line web applications. These redesigned bookmarks (called Places) will be 'released' in Alpha 5.
According to Net Applications' report in early April 2007, Firefox has 15.1% of the global browser market. Leading the way is Internet Explorer with 78.6% market share.
