NASA prepares a press conference to announce a new discovery of the Martian atmosphere

This year seems to be a "bumper" year for NASA about astronomical discoveries.

After two press conferences about the 2nd Earth Kepler - 452b and discovered liquid water flowing on the surface of Mars, NASA recently announced that it will hold a press conference on 2 pm on November 5 (2am in the morning). November 6, Vietnam time) to announce an important finding about the Martian atmosphere.

This time, what will we find on Mars's atmosphere?

Experts say the announcement comes from data obtained from the MAVEN vessel (short for Mars - Mars, Atmosphere - Atmosphere, and Evolutionary instability - Volatile Evolution). It is known that the MAVEN ship has approached Mars orbit since 2014 to study the planet's upper atmosphere.

The vessel is designed with 8 sensors, including magnetometer and ion spectrometer, to determine the process of changing the atmosphere on Mars over time.

Since then, scientists expect to help pave the way for future conquests of the Red Planet.

Previous press conferences have published Earth's "brother" - Kepler - 452b.

According to NASA, participants in this press conference include:

  1. Michael Meyer - Team Leader of the Mars Exploration Program.
  2. Bruce Jakosky - MAVEN project supervisor.
  3. Jasper Halekas - MAVEN's Head of Ion Analysis for Solar Wind.
  4. Yaxue Dong - Researcher.
  5. Dave Brain - Co-Supervisor.
