A scientific breakthrough can make birth control pills for men a reality.

>>>Why are there no birth control pills for men?

Scientists from Monash University (Australia) have developed a new contraceptive for men. The new drug acts like a temporary vasectomy , preventing sperm from leaving the male body during sex.

Dr. Sabatino Ventura, the head of the study, said the contraceptive technique works by preventing two proteins from participating in the ejaculation process . Scientists have used drugs to affect sperm mechanisms leaving the body of men instead of making hormonal changes or killing sperm. This greatly reduces side effects such as decreased erectile or sexual desire.

'The new technique does not affect men's sexual desire and reproductive ability simply returns by stopping the drug. Most contraceptive techniques used to be used by men in the past often use the mechanism of changing the subject or destroying the sperm, causing side effects such as reducing masculinity or reducing the ability to give birth later, ' Dr. Sabatino to speak.

Dr. Sabatino and colleagues successfully tested the new drug on mice. Male mice were 100% infertile after two proteins involved in ejaculation were removed from their bodies. Sperm remains in the body and is not damaged. They can be used for artificial insemination and to produce healthy pups.

Birth control pills for men will help couples to share tasks in family planning. Because there are many methods of contraception for women right now, for men only condoms or vasectomy surgery.

Even so, some women may not be excited about birth control pills for men. A survey by Anglia Ruskin University in 2011 found that half of women would not trust their partners to remember to take birth control pills.
