New excavation changes the concept of alcohol and beer for more than 2,000 years of Greece

Recent archaeological discoveries have broken the notion that Greeks only enjoy producing and enjoying wine.

Greeks are known for their 'infinite' love for wine. However, according to a recent study, it seems that their ancestors not only produced wine, but also devoted much effort to cooking and enjoying beer.

The Greek Reporter reports that the evidence found at the archaeological sites Archontiko and Argissa shows that Greeks began brewing beer from the Bronze Age.

These new findings have been widely publicized by Sultana-Maria Valamoti, Professor of the History and Archeology Department of the University of Thessaloniki.

'The new material appears for the first time to show that Greek prehistoric residents, besides alcohol, also' , the study of Valamoti and colleagues pointed out.
