China Times reported that the poisonous blue-spotted octopus was discovered by a student on the coast of Penghu Island, Taiwan on September 3 while surveying the ecological environment.
Seeing the colorful animal, the student picked it up and stroked it before a biologist - who organized the survey - shouted to ask the student to stop. Biologist confirms that this is a blue-spotted octopus, a poisonous marine animal that is second only to box jellyfish.

"Green-spotted octopus venom is 50 times stronger than cobra snake, capable of killing 26 people. If humans touch or hurt it, octopus will attack and bite victims" , biologist said. "Worse yet, there is no serum resistant to this type of venom."
According to Sunshinecoastdaily, this octopus is usually distributed in coral reefs and rocky coastal areas, with a body diameter of about 12-20cm. Their identification characteristics are yellow skin with brown spots. When the octopus feels threatened or agitated, the brown spot on its body will turn dark and the colorful blue spots will appear.
Executive Director of Queensland Emergency Services (QAS Widebay), Rick Tenthy, said the blue-spotted octopus venom is strong enough to kill an adult.
"People who get bitten will have symptoms of vomiting, shortness of breath, heart attack, paralysis and dizziness. If they are not treated in time, the victim can die in minutes. The cause of death is often due to depression. Absorption or lack of oxygen on the brain, " Mr. Tenthy said.
If they are accidentally bitten, the victim needs to quickly squeeze the wound or be treated with CPR CPR if unconscious.
