Physics students in the UK say that the reality may be different than what was shown in the Star Trek series, according to a report in the Journal of Physics Special Topics , University of Leicester.

Given that the technique was invented, a person needs to be 'distilled' into transmitted data, from DNA to all the data that form the brain.

Thus, a group of Leicester University students said that simply moving a person from the ground to the spacecraft waiting in space is enough to take about 350,000 times longer than the age of the universe today.

The universe is estimated to be nearly 14 billion years old.

It is best to use the means to put people into space today, by the Russian soyuz, for example.
